Well, this is the first posting (and a test) on what I expect to be a series of daily posts during my first attempt of walking El Camino de Santiago via the French route from St. Jean Pied de Port in France, across the Pyrenees into Spain and across northern Spain to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia.

I'll be leaving in three days from Illinois and already the anticipation is palpable. However before leaving for El Camino I have a short trip to Iowa starting in a few minutes...

Here's is a photo I took of a recent Chicago sunset with my new camera which I will use to chronicle the walk on El Camino de Santiago.
